Autopsy reveals country singer Craig Morgan’s son Jerry Greer died of drowning
Official autopsy results have concluded that country singer Craig Morgan’s son, Jerry Greer, drowned to death. As you surely remember, the 19-year-old boy was found dead in the water after a tubing accident with friends on Kentucky Lake back in July. At the time his death was ruled accidental.
According to toxicology results, Jerry Greer tested positive for marijuana and a low level of alcohol at the time of the accident. The Assistant Medical Examiner Erin Carney told The Tennessean that Greer was riding on an inner tube behind a boat when the inter tube flipped and Greer went under the water. He did not surface despite wearing a life jacket and his body was discovered the following day about 9 p.m.
“The loss of our son Jerry is the hardest thing we have ever had to endure as a family,” Morgan, 52, wrote on his Facebook after his son’s funeral. “Karen and I are so grateful for all of the wonderful people who have shown us unwavering support during this difficult time.”
The singer added, “Jerry may be gone from this earth, and we will miss him every day, but his spirit will live on in our hearts. We will find peace knowing that God has a bigger plan, and that one day, we’ll be reunited with him again in heaven.”
