Bastille cancel New York and Toronto shows for medical reasons
Bastille were set to play New York’s Bowery Ballroom last night (Oct.04) but they had to cancel their show for medical reasons, after frontman Dan Smith posted a statement to his Instagram account.
The singer stated that he had “strained his voice” and is “reluctantly” taking the advice of his doctors to rest his voice to prevent “further damage”.
“This isn’t something we’ve ever done in years of touring so I feel very weird writing this,” he continued. “We’ve been very excited to play at The Bowery again and I can’t apologise enough for messing you guys around.”
Smith added that Bastille are working on a rescheduled date, with more info set to be “shared as soon as possible. Huge apologies again from me and the guys”.
The band were set to play at Danforth Music Hall in Toronto tonight (Oct.05) but it’s unlikely that they will perform. In fact, rumor has it also this date is canceled and will be rescheduled. However Bastille didn’t give any official indication whether they will be able to play their show tonight.
