Billboard 200, Hayley Kiyoko’s ‘Expectations’ arrives in top 20
American singer, songwriter, actress, and dancer Hayley Kiyoko is turning her debut studio album into a great success. ‘Expectations’ was released on March 30 preceded by the singles “Sleepover”, “Feelings” and “Curious”.
The project garnered positive reviews from music critics, who praised the album’s queer themes and production. Moreover, it debuted within the top 40 of record charts in Ireland, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.
Now it turns out that Hayley Kiyoko scores her first entry on the Billboard 200. ‘Expectations’ starts at No. 12 with 24,000 equivalent-album units earned in the week ending April 5, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 17,000 are in traditional album sales, which yields a No. 4 bow on the Top Album Sales tally.
Kiyoko’s first chart action was on April 30, 2011, when a flurry of songs from Lemonade Mouth, in which she co-starred and sang in, arrived on the tallies.
