Blink-182 working on new music
Blink-182 are back in the studio and they’ve got new music on the way. So fans won’t have to wait another five years for new tunes as bassist Mark Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker shared Snapchats from inside the studio, with Hoppus’ caption reading: “New Blink-182 songs day one.”
In the snaps, Barker can be seen wailing on the drums in his signature fashion wearing a black beanie and matching sleeveless T-shirt. The second snap finds himself and Hoppus gazing into each other’s eyes.
The band last released an album with 2016’s California and it was their first to feature Matt Skiba on vocals and guitar after he replaced former member Tom DeLonge. The last time we heard a new album from the core Blink trio was way back on 2011’s Neighborhoods.
While no further details regarding the new tunes have been announced, the trio recently confirmed a 16-date residency at Palms Casino in Las Vegas that will begin May 26 and run through November 17.
They are calling the stint their ‘Kings Of The Weekend’ tour and have joked about marrying fans onstage. “When the Palms asked us to do a residency here in Vegas, we said ‘Absolutely!’”, frontman and bassist Mark Hoppus said in a statement.
