Canadian rapper Jon James McMurray tragically dies during stunt
Canadian rapper Jon James McMurray has tragically died while performing a daring stunt. The musician passed away on Saturday (Oct. 20) while making videos of parachuting and aeroplane stunts.
The stunt from Jon James McMurray involved rapping while walking on the wing of a plane. McMurray, who was originally from Calgary but lived in Los Angeles, was known for his adrenaline-seeking antics on social media.
The rapper’s manager Ryan Desrochers said: “He died filming for a project he had been working on for months” adding “He had trained intensely for this stunt.”
The full facts explain that during a music video shoot in Vernon, British Columbia, the rapper was walking on the wing of a Cessna as it was in flight. However, he walked too far out on the wing and made the small aircraft go into a downward spiral.
McMurray held onto the wing until it was too late, and by the time he let go, he didn’t have time to pull his parachute. For this reason, he impacted and died instantly. Unlike the rapper, the plane and pilot later landed safely.
McMurray was only 34 years old and was married to Playboy model Kali James.
