CL enters the Hot 100 Chart with solo single ‘Lifted’

Chaelin Lee, the South Korean singer better known by her stage name CL entered on the Billboard Hot 100 with her solo single “Lifted”. CL, of YG Entertainment’s girl group 2NE1 marked this way her first-ever entry since she began her solo career.

On the chart dated Oct. 22, “Lifted” entered at No. 94. According to Nielsen Music, the song debuts on the Hot 100 with nearly all its chart points from 5.2 million U.S. streams in the week ending Oct. 6.

“Lifted”, written by CL, Asher Roth, and Teddy Park, was released as her debut American single this year on August 19th.

The song is CL’s first solo track to be released entirely in English following “Hello Bitches,” (in both English and Korean). It bases its tune on the legendary 1990s hip-hop group Wu Tang Clan’s “Method Man.”

The singer has not revealed whether “Lifted” previews an upcoming album.
