The Decemberists release “I’ll Be Your Girl”
The Decemberists have finally released their new album “I’ll Be Your Girl” today (Mar.16). Produced by John Congleton and anticipated by the lead single “Severed,” the project is the follow-up to 2015’s “What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World.”
With this new album, the American indie rock band seems to give fans a new, darker side of music, which explore “more absurdist side of things” with help from “a lot of nice vintage synth work,” as they themselves explained.
Well, it’s true that the 11-track album is a radical departure from the Portland-based group’s more traditional folk-based sound. What can we say? Every band needs to refresh and reconsider its sound sooner or later, no matter how sharp it’s gotten over the course of a long career.
“I’ll Be Your Girl” is The Decemberists’s eighth album in 17 years. Would you like to find out something more? You can stream the album below.
