Desiigner’s “Panda” goes triple platinum

“Panda”, the debut single by American rapper Desiigner, has officially gone triple platinum. The song, which premiered on December 15, 2015, and was released for digital download on the iTunes Store as a single, was written by Desiigner and its producer Menace.

“Panda” – contained in “New English” album – immediately became a world hit: let’s think that in April it became the first hip hop song since Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again” to reach #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Desiigner has released a handful of songs since, including the beautiful “Tiimmy Turner,” but none of which have remotely approached the popularity of “Panda.” Replicating the success of this song seems to be very difficult since it has been streamed 118 million times on YouTube, 122 million times on SoundCloud, and 380 million times on Spotify.
