Dolly Parton’s brother dead at 61
Dolly Parton’s younger brother Floyd Estel has died aged 61. He passed away last Thursday (Dec.6), according to Atchley Funeral Home, however the family gave the news only today.
In addition to being Dolly’s brother, Floyd Estel Parton was a songwriter and composer. He penned “Rockin’ Years,” recorded by his sister and Ricky Van Shelton, and “Nickels and Dimes,” which George Burns once covered.
Floyd was remembered in his obituary as a “renaissance man,” an avid outdoorsman and an incredible cook. The artist is survived by his siblings and their spouses, as well as several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
