Ed Sheeran donates a signed guitar to help terminally ill girl
Ed Sheeran proved once again he truly has a heart of gold. The Castle On The Hill hitmaker donated a signed guitar to help eleven-year-old Melody’s parents raise money for a legal battle with King’s College Hospital in London.
Karina and Nigel Driscoll, whose daughter Melody lives with Rett Syndrome, are in dispute with the hospital over the latter’s decision to withdraw their child’s medication on the grounds that it could cause liver damage.
Melody’s parents argue that the decision has left their daughter in considerable pain, and are seeking to contest the decision.
Ed Sheeran met with eleven-year-old Melody for the first time in November 2016. Karina and Nigel said they were overwhelmed by Ed’s gesture, and speaking to The Independent, Karina said:
“It was overwhelming” the fact Sheeran offered to help them raise money “to make sure she has the best quality of life we can give her.”
