Fergie and Josh Duhamel announce separation after eight years of marriage
We’re sad to announce the separation of singer Fergie and his husband, actor Josh Duhamel, after 8 years of marriage and thirteen together. The Black Eyed Peas vocalist began dating Duhamel in September 2004 and then they married in a Catholic ceremony on January 10, 2009. The couple have one son, Axl Jack, born in August 2013.
Fergie and Josh announced the news on Thursday (Sept. 14), revealing they called it quits months ago: “With absolute love and respect we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year,” the estranged couple wrote in a statement “To give our family the best opportunity to adjust, we wanted to keep this a private matter before sharing it with the public. We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family.”
The news was a bolt from the blue since the couple frequently posted photos of their time together on social media and spoke affectionately about each other throughout their marriage. Moreover, in a 2012 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Duhamel said there was “no question” his wife was the best thing that ever happened to him. As for Fergie, she called Duhamel her “partner in crime” and “soul mate.”
