Floyd Miles dead at 74
American soul blues guitarist, singer and songwriter Floyd Miles has died at the age of 74. He released four solo albums from 1992 onwards.
Floyd started to find nationwide fame in the 1990s by joining Gregg Allman & Friends on tour. And the sad news came right via the late-Gregg Allman’s social media accounts:
“Team GA was saddened to hear of the passing of Floyd Miles. A great friend and inspiration to the Allman family. Much love to the Miles family in this time of sadness and grief. Rest In Peace Brother. #Music #Blues #Legend”
Floyd died on Thursday (Jan. 25), according to several sources in contact with the Miles family. In October (2017), the singer suffered a fall that resulted in a broken ankle that required the singer to be admitted into a local rehabilitation center. A bout with prostate cancer eventually thwarted his recovery.
Miles is survived by his wife, Claudia and several children.
