Harassment, Kevin Spacey apologizes and comes out as gay
After the American film producer Harvey Weinstein’s been accused of sexual harassment by a lot of women, now people feel encouraged to tell the world what’s happened to them, getting revenge for their own abuses.
Actor Anthony Rapp has recently accused Kevin Spacey of making a pass toward him when he was only 14. In response, the American actor and film director said he didn’t remember the encounter, but that if he behaved as described by Rapp, he owes him “sincerest apology”.
Spacey took to Twitter late Sunday night (Oct.29) and disclosed he had relationships with both men and women. He added he chose to live as a gay man.
Rapp told that the two met in 1986 when both were appearing in Broadway shows (Rapp in Precious Sons and Spacey in Long Day’s Journey Into Night). One night, Spacey – who was 26 at the time – invited Rapp to his apartment for a party, completely drunk.
Rapp claims that Spacey picked him up “like a groom picks up the bride over the threshold”. In a first moment, Rapp did not turn against Spacey but then he layed down on top of him, holding him down while tightening his grip on Rapp, who was able to get away after some time.
“He was trying to seduce me,” Rapp said. “I don’t know if I would have used that language. But I was aware that he was trying to get with me sexually.”
