Jason Aldean tells about Las Vegas shooting: ‘Tonight has been beyond horrific’
A gunman firing from Las Vegas Mandalay Bay hotel rained a rapid-fire barrage on a huge outdoor concert festival on Sunday night (Oct.1), sending thousands of people fleeing until SWAT units found and killed him. On the stage, right in the moment of the shooting, there was the American country music singer Jason Aldean.
Aldean was performing “When She Says Baby” at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas at 10:08 p.m. when gunfire broke out during his concert. He fled the scene and was unharmed, but the Las Vegas Sheriff has stated that more than 50 people died, and at least 200 others were wounded – to the moment of writing – making it one of the deadliest mass shootings in United States history.
Jason Aldean took to Instagram to tell about what happened and wrote: “Tonight has been beyond horrific. I still dont know what to say but wanted to let everyone know that Me and my Crew are safe. My Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved tonight. It hurts my heart that this would happen to anyone who was just coming out to enjoy what should have been a fun night. #heartbroken #stopthehate”
The video below shows the final performer of the night, Jason Aldean, who runs off the stage as the gunfire erupted.
