Joseph Gordon-Levitt Plays Drums in L.A. Subway – Watch here
If you hit the Vermont/Sunset Metro Station in Los Angeles recently, you might have seen a special show going on with a wonderful actor playing drums. We’re talking about Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who set up a drum kit on the subway platform and showed off with a solo percussion concert.
Why? Just because it’s a collaborative project between the actor’s HitRECord and LG called “Everyday, Spectacular.”
Gordon-Levitt didn’t get much attention in the moment, and nobody seemed to recognize him. One man remarked he looked like Pee-Wee Herman.
“I want to challenge musicians, singers, dancers, and performers of any kind to go into an ordinary setting, and make a spectacular moment out of that everyday situation,” Gordon-Levitt explained on HitRecord, his online production company. “You can sing, dance, play around, dress up in costumes, do any kind of extraordinary activity. These performances will be recorded from the standpoint of a passerby. So in the end, we’ll have a big, vibrant, beautiful, spectacular, collaborative piece of art.”
On Facebook the actor sent a special message to fans: “I asked you guys to play music in public. For my part I played drums in a subway.”
