Kelly Cutrone: ‘Russell Simmons tried to rape me in 1991’
Last month, model Keri Claussen Khalighi accused American entrepreneur, producer, and author Russell Simmons of sexual assault in 1991 but Simmons denied that the encounter was non-consensual. It’s not the only accusation towards hims since a number of women have accused Simmons of sexual harassment, assault or rape:
Among those who said they had been raped by Simmons there are Jenny Lumet, Sherri Hines, Tina Baker and Drew Dixon. Women who said they had been sexually harassed or assaulted by him include: Keri Claussen Khalighi, Lisa Kirk, Toni Sallie, and Amanda Seales. Well now publicist Kelly Cutrone joins this last list.
On Thursday (Dec. 14) Cutrone told Page Six that Simmons tried to rape her in 1991 in his apartment. The two were casual acquaintances at the time, and when they met at a party, Cutrone says Simmons tried to invite her back to his apartment, which she declined. When he suggested they go to a friend’s house, she agreed, though she says Simmons led her to his home instead.
“He pushed me into his apartment and then he threw me down on the floor and literally tried to grab … take my clothes off of me,” she told Page Six. “And I started kicking him really, really hard, screaming, telling him to get the f**k off of me. And that I would have him killed if he ever f–king laid a hand on me.”
Cutrone said that after the alleged encounter, she ran out of the apartment and called a cab to come back home and tried to forget the terrible experience in the years that followed.
