Lady Gaga reveals the title and release date of her brand new album
Lady Gaga has finally confirmed the title and release date of her brand new album. The singer’s fifth studio album is called ‘Joanne’ and will be released on October 21th via Streamline/Interscope.
Gaga made the announcement on Apple Radio’s Beats 1 on Thursday (Sept15), according to Entertainment Weekly, revealing that the album is “going to be done in the next 48 hours.”
Yes, we’re almost there, keep calm. “The title was in tribute to my father’s sister who died when she was 19”, the singer has added. Gaga’s aunt died from lupus and the star explained that it “left a scar and wound that never healed”.
Gaga also spoke about the mixed feelings she has about completing the recording process. “This isn’t the end just the end of this moment,” she said. “It’s also the beginning of this moment.”
The album will feature collaborations from artists such as Florence + The Machine’s Florence Welch, Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker and Ronson. Its first single, “Perfect Illusion,” was released Sept. 8.
As regards the other tracks, Lady Gaga talked about one song called “John Wayne” that features Josh Homme on guitar and explores “my incessant need to run after wild men and somehow I get bored of the same old John.” Meanwhile, “Sinner’s Prayer” features Father John Misty and Gaga said, “This song is about singing to a man just telling him, ‘Look I just don’t want to break the heart of any other man but you, but I know that I’m a sinner.'”
