Linkin Park plan memorial gig for late frontman Chester Bennington
Chester Bennington took his own life last month (he was found dead at his home in Los Angeles on 20th July) and his band Linkin Park announced they’re planning a public memorial for him.
In a post on Facebook and Instagram, the band revealed the “special public event” would take place in Los Angeles, adding that more details would be announced later.
“We are working on a special public event in Los Angeles – they wrote – to honor Chester’s memory, and look forward to sharing details with you soon. Peace and love”.
In the statement they also thanked fans for the “tremendous outpouring of love, which has strengthened our spirit during this incredibly difficult time”.
As a matter of fact, since Chester’s death, fans around the world have organized dozens of events to remember him, with his bandmates only voicing support but never taking part. Now it’s their turn.
