Mac Miller dead, Ariana Grande breaks silence and posts a tribute
Rapper Mac Miller was found dead of an apparent drug overdose in his Studio City home on Friday (Sept. 7) around noon, after a friend called for an “immediate dispatch” for a patient in cardiac arrest, according to a 911 call. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene upon arrival of authorities.
Following news of Mac Miller’s death, singers and colleagues paid tribute to the late artist but needless to say that many fans awaited a statement from Mac Miller’s ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande, but she didn’t say anything in a first moment.
Well many hours later Mac’s death, his famous ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande finally broke her silence on the matter and decided to pay a tribute to her former boyfriend posting a picture on Instagram.
The singer’s photo, a black-and-white image of Miller sitting outside, was not accompanied by text. She disabled comments on the post too.
Why? Well, hours after news broke that the 26-year-old had been found dead, angry Internet users began harassing Ariana via Instagram, prompting the singer to disable comments on her photos.
Many unfairly began blaming Grande for Miller’s death, citing her recent engagement as one of the reasons for his drug abuse. Ariana and Mac split a few months ago after two years of dating. Now she is engaged to “Saturday Night Live” star Pete Davidson.
