Madonna performs brand new song at the MetGala

On Monday night (May 7) at the MetGala Madonna premiered a new song probably called ‘Magic’ or ‘Beautiful Game’, following her performance of ‘Like A Prayer’. It’s not sure if the track is new single or just featured on the new album.

The Met Gala, formally called the Costume Institute Gala and also known as the Met Ball, is an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City.

Each year the event has a theme, and includes a cocktail hour and a formal dinner. During the cocktail hour, guests arrive to walk on the red carpet, tour the year’s special themed exhibition, and be seated before the dinner party that includes entertainment from the preeminent entertainers of the day.

This year the theme was Heavenly Bodies, and it encouraged celebrities including Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Blake Lively, Katy Perry, Zoe Kravitz, Janelle Monae, and plenty more to bring their divine A-game.

As regards Madonna, she arrived wearing a look covered with crosses. The Queen of Pop opted for an all-black Jean Paul Gaultier look featuring a dramatic ball gown skirt, a bodysuit with a sheer cutout cross down the chest, and a black veil. Moreover the singer wore a ton of tiny layered cross necklaces along with some rosary beads and a gold diamond crown.

Madonna delighted fans with a surprise performance which began with a rendition of ‘Like A Prayer’ before she segued into a brand new song which fans have never heard before, which – as mentioned above – is reportedly titled either ‘Magic’ or ‘Beautiful Game’.

“It’s a beautiful plan, but I’m not concerned / It’s a beautiful game, that I never learned / You have taught me to shut my mouth, that I not get burned / Keep your beautiful lies, ‘cause I’m not concerned,” she sings over an industrial beat.

As a final gift, Madonna performed a cover of Leonard Cohen’s ballad Hallelujah, which earned a brilliant reaction from the audience. Check the video of the brand new song below.
