Michael Bublé’s ‘Christmas’ certified double diamond
Michael Bublé’s “Christmas” has been certified double diamond in Australia, in recognition of sales in excess of one million units.
The album has racked up 50 weeks on the ARIA Albums Chart and peaked at No. 1 on the survey each Christmas for four years following its 2011 release. As Billboard reports, ‘Christmas’ currently sits at No. 2, just behind John Farnham & Olivia Newton-John’s ‘Friends for Christmas’.
Only Ed Sheeran’s ‘X’ and Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’ have been awarded diamond certification, although historically other albums have passed the 500,000 sales threshold, such as Adele’s ’21’.
However, Michael Bublé has other things that cross his mind, at the moment. His son Noah is battling liver cancer and the singer suspended his professional activity to spend all his time and attention to help the little one to get better.
The only good news is that Noah will get to spend the festive period out of hospital after being deemed well enough to be at home.
