Nicki Minaj’s ‘Barbie Tingz’ & ‘Chun-Li’ debut on Billboard Hot 100
After taking a few months off from social media, Nicki Minaj unleashed two new songs Thursday (Apr.12): “Barbie Tingz” and “Chun-Li.” The songs anticipate the rapper’s fourth studio album, which will be her first since 2014’s The Pinkprint, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and included the “Anaconda” smash that hit No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Well, after only one day of streaming and sales tracking, “Barbie Tingz” and “Chun-Li” arrived at Nos. 83 and 92, respectively on the Billboard Hot 100(dated Apr. 21).
The first one earned 4.2 million U.S. streams and sold 21,000 downloads in the week ending April 12, following its release that day, according to Nielsen Music. The second one logged 3.5 million clicks and sold 20,000 downloads.
Moreover, both tracks concurrently debut on the Digital Song Sales chart, at Nos. 13 and 16, respectively. “Chun-Li” additionally garnered 8.5 million all-format radio audience impressions in the week ending April 15, while “Barbie Tingz” drew 7.5 million.
Most likely, we will see both tracks on next week’s Hot 100 (dated April 28), as that chart will encompass the song’s first full week of tracking.
