Nicki Minaj’s “Chun-Li” certified platinum
“Chun-Li” – released as the lead single of Nicki Minaj’s upcoming fourth studio album ‘Queen’ back in April – has been certified platinum. It was the rapper herself to reveal the news on Instagram Monday (July 30).
In her post, Nicki described it as a “cute little song I freestyled in a cpl mins.” She also thanked her “very own” producer J Reid, who created the instrumentals for both “Chun-Li” and “Barbie Tingz” as his first big placements.
Commercially, “Chun-Li” has peaked at number 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100, reached the top 20 in Canada and the top 30 in France, Scotland, and the United Kingdom.
This truly is a joyful time for Nicki, whose collaboration with 6ix9ine “FeFe” became her highest-charting song of 2018 and her 93rd entry into the Hot 100, pushing her past Kanye West’s total of 92 and behind only 5 others: Glee Cast (207), Drake (186), Lil Wayne (138), Elvis Presley (108) and JAY-Z (98).
