Prince worked on Janelle Monáe’s new album
Prince worked on Janelle Monáe’s new album prior to his passing. It should come as no surprise since The Kid and Janelle already collaborated in the past. Just think that he remixed her track “Q.U.E.E.N.” and appeared as a featured guest on her last album, 2013’s The Electric Lady.
In interviews about her forthcoming album, ‘Dirty Computer’, Monáe discussed the influence that Prince had over her and the album.
“Prince actually was working on the album with me before he passed on to another frequency, and helped me come up with sounds.” she said to BBC Radio 1, adding “And I really miss him, you know, it’s hard for me to talk about him. But I do miss him, and his spirit will never leave me.”
‘Dirty Computer’ is the fourth album and first “emotion picture” by Janelle Monáe. The exact extent to which Prince was involved in Dirty Computer isn’t clear, but presumably the production credits will reveal all when the record will be released on April 27.
