Radiohead: solo projects & tour in 2018
Radiohead have confirmed that they will be touring in 2018 but they’ll also focus on solo projects. After thier lengthy world tour in support of 2016 album ‘A Moon Shaped Pool‘, the band recently revealed that they’d be ‘hanging up their Radioheads‘ in 2018 to work on their own projects.
Ed O’Brien is set to release his debut solo album later this year: “We’ve tracked some stuff and we have some backing tracks and I’m going back into the studio with Flood and Catherine to finish those tracks up and will start some new stuff in the new year,” the guitarist told Esquire, adding: “Yes there are some tour dates being looked at for Radiohead next year. So I’m very busy at the moment, I’ve got my head in this record.”
Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood will both be scoring films. The frontman will compose his first movie score for Suspiria, while the guitarist will work on Paul Thomas Anderson’s Phantom Thread and the Joaquin Phoenix-starring You Were Never Really Here.
Radiohead have also announced plans to release a new songbook, featuring lyrics and chords for tracks from across the band’s whole career. It’s available for pre-order now, and orders are expected to start shipping on November 27.
