Radiohead’s guitarist Ed O’Brien to release solo album next year
The English guitarist Edward John “Ed” O’Brien, best known as a member of the alternative rock band Radiohead (with whom he has recorded nine studio albums) is working on his first solo album, which should be released in 2017.
In a recent interview with Matt Everitt at BBC Radio 6, O’Brien unveiled his plans: “We’ve attempted to do something like a full solo album, you know, stand there on the mountaintop with the hair going and the Les Paul and create a whole Ed O’Brien. I haven’t up until two years ago but I am going to now. I’m gonna do one next year.”
The musician went to live In Brazil for some time, and that experience gave him inspiration so his solo album will reflect his time in the South American country.
O’Brien also confirmed that Radiohead did make an album in Nashville with Jack White at Third Man Records but shelved it.
