Selena Gomez reportedly hospitalized after having “nervous breakdown”
According to TMZ, Selena Gomez was hospitalized twice within the past couple of weeks after experiencing what sources called an “emotional breakdown.”
Sources say Selena was at her Studio City, CA home the last week of September when the first emergency hit. It was discovered her white blood cell count was severely low due to her kidney transplant. Sources say a family member drove her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A.
After being released days later, Selena had to be re-admitted last week because her low blood cell count persisted, and it threw Selena into a complete meltdown. Not being able to leave, Selena reportedly “freaked out” and was trying to rip IV’s out of her arm.
The 26-year-old singer is currently at a mental health facility where she is receiving dialectical behavior therapy.
Gomez has been very open about her struggles with mental health issues in the past. In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she spoke about her history with anxiety and depression, as well as the steps she has taken to overcome them.
