T.I. to star in & co-produce upcoming musical drama “Glow Up”
American rapper and actor T.I. is attached to star in “Glow Up”, an upcoming music drama which he will also produce along with Robbie Brenner, producer of the Sundance award-winning film Burden, PepsiCo’s Creators League, Kevin McKeon, and T.I.’s producing partner, Brian Sher.
The film will follow the lives and struggles of an all-girl high school performance group at an underfunded Los Angeles school, who use their talents to try and save their financially-strapped music program by competing in a national singing competition with a huge cash prize.
Then, after the group’s leader can no longer participate in the competition, they struggle to see how their new leader can bring them to victory.
We don’t know what T.I.’s role will exactly be in the film, but it’s being reported that he’s going to be curating the films’s soundtrack via his Grand Hustle Films shingle as well.
Jeff Kwatinetz will serve as executive producer, while Kristin Patrick, Ellen Healy, and Robert Kandle are overseeing production for Creators League.
