• Oscar-winning Italian director of ‘The Last Emperor’ dies at 77

    Italian director and screenwriter Bernardo Bertolucci - famous for his masterpieces The Last Emperor & Last Tango in Paris - has died in Rome aged 77 following a short battle with lung cancer. The Oscar-winning Maestro was also honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame in 2009.
  • LFO’s Brad Fischetti: “My brother passed away”

    On Wednesday (Nov.21) LFO remaining member Brad Fischetti published a video on Youtube saying his "brother" had passed away. Devin Lima, who was diagnosed with adrenal cancer in 2017, is the second member of the group to die young. Bandmate Rich Cronin died from leukaemia in 2010.

    LFO singer Devin Lima died at age 41 on Wed (Nov. 21) following a yearlong battle with stage 4 adrenal cancer. The singer underwent chemotherapy and radiation following his diagnosis but he lost his battle with cancer. Tragedy has struck the group before. In 2010, LFO singer Rich Cronin died of leukemia aged 35.
  • ‘The Queen of Soul’ Aretha Franklin has died

    The Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin has passed away Thursday (Aug. 16) at age 76, said her representative, Gwendolyn Quinn. The legendary singer was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2010. After an operation that year, she continued to undergo treatment.

    Timmy Matley, the lead singer of The Overtones, has died aged 36, the band have confirmed. Matley was diagnosed with stage three malignant melanoma - a form of skin cancer - in 2016 and "died suddenly" in London on Monday. Family requested privacy at this very difficult time.

    In an interview with British magazine NME, Moby recalled a night of heavy drinking that left him too incapacitated to attend his mother's funeral. The American musician lost his mother, American costume designer Elizabeth McBride in 1998. She was 42.

    Canadian media giant Jay Switzer, a former CHUM CEO who helped launch the country’s first national music video channel MuchMusic in 1984 and most recently co-founded classic movie platform Hollywood Suite, died on Monday (Jan.29) in Toronto of brain cancer, at 61.
