Veronica Falls drummer Patrick Doyle dead at 32
Patrick Doyle, the Veronica Falls drummer and singer-songwriter behind Boys Forever, has died aged 32. The cause of death has not yet been revealed.
It was a post on the Boys Forever Facebook page earlier Sunday afternoon (Mar. 4) to give confirm the sad news about Doyle’s death. “He was a dear son, brother, uncle and friend, and we loved him dearly,” the statement reads. “His family are immensely proud of all he achieved.”
At the end of the post, a request for donations: “We’re asking for any donations to be given to the Los Angeles LGBT Center, who were an invaluable support for Patrick.”
In addition to this, Veronica Falls member Marion Herbain also shared a message about Doyle’s passing on Instagram. “Everything hurts and it’s been hard finding the right words while dealing with feelings ranging from complete heartbreak to remorse,” she wrote.
“It hasn’t fully sunk in yet, but I’m glad I got to spend some of the best years of my life by your side, as a bandmate and a friend,” Herbain added.
During the night, tributes for the Veronica Falls drummer and solo musician have poured in. Martin Wilson wrote “The worst news. RIP”, while Lione Bitchy shared a moving memory:
“A few years ago Patrick Doyle and I got matching airplane tattoos because no matter what, we were always just a plane away. I’m never gonna see him again and my heart is broken.”
Matthew Todd talked about a “devastating loss” while Alex Kapranos said to feel “heartbroken” to hear the news of Doyle’s death.
