Vision singer Dave Franklin dead at 47
Dave Franklin, singer for the enduring New Jersey hardcore punk band Vision, died on Thursday (Jan. 5) as a bandmate confirmed. The artist was 47 and no cause of death has been made known.
Vision released five studio albums in total since their 1989 debut ‘In the Blink of an Eye’, with the latest being 2003’s ‘Detonate’. The band made a lasting impact on the punk / hardcore scene as a number of bands have offered their condolences regarding Franklin’s passing.
Franklin lived in Florida and was visiting family and friends in New Jersey when he passed away, inciting an outpouring of memories and grief on social media:
“He was kind of the larger than life,” Vision guitarist Peter Tabbot told NJ.com. “He was the presence and soul of the band, he had a magnetic personality. His friends are heartbroken.”
