‘The Voice’ Premiere Recap
Last night (Sept. 25) The Voice returned for its 13th season, with coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton returning to the chairs, joined by former Voice coach Miley Cyrus and newcomer Jennifer Hudson. Needless to say that the Blind Auditions provided plenty of suspense and drama as the coaches tried to make their initial bids for artists.
The Voice, which has won three Emmys for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program, returns with the strongest vocalists from across the country invited to compete in the blockbuster vocal competition show’s new season.
The show’s innovative format features five stages of competition: the first begins with the blind auditions, then the battle rounds, knockouts, playoffs and, finally, the live performance shows.
What’s there to know about this season? Well, Adam and Blake have promised to try to dial down the barbs this year (both knowing they won’t be able to play nice for too long), Miley’s on a mission to win it all, while Jennifer is coming in strong with some solid advice for the auditioners. She’s not throwing out sticky hyperboles just yet, which is a refreshing change of pace from last season already.
Dave Crosby and Brandon Showell entered Team Adam. Janice Freeman and Brooke Simpson are in Team Miley. Chris Weaver, Shi-Ann Jones and Lucas Holliday will fight in Team Jennifer. Mitchell Lee and Esera Tuaolo in Team Blake.
That’s all for now. Tonight we’ll see Part 2 of The Blind Auditions Premiere.
