Young Dolph shooting, a man was arrested
American rapper Adolph Thornton, Jr., better known by his stage name Young Dolph, was shot multiple times outside of a local retail store in Los Angeles on Tuesday (Sept. 26). I’m sure you’ve read he received multiple gunshots wounds which were treated under critical condition. On Wednesday (Sept. 27) a man was arrested: his name is Corey McClendon and he is 43.
This is the story of how it happened: Thornton was reportedly confronted by three men outside the Loews Hollywood hotel, a fight broke out and after the rapper fell to the ground one of the men pulled out a gun and shot him, leaving him critically injured.
Corey McClendon, 43, was detained near the scene and then arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, said Officer Irma Mota, a Los Angeles police spokeswoman. Police were still looking for at least two other suspects.
Moments after the shooting, Yo Gotti – a rapper who has a long-running feud with Thornton – was named as a person of interest in relation to the shooting but at the moment he’s no longer a suspect since his name hasn’t surfaced in connection with Tuesday’s gunfight.
It seems the rapper was “targeted because of who he is and some kind of beef that’s ongoing,” Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck told KABC-TV on Wednesday. “I think this was something he brought with him from across the United States.”
